Privacy
middlekid.io is a personal website run by Richard Chan. It does not have accounts, logins, comments, carts, or contact forms, so there is nothing here that asks you to hand over personal information. This page explains the small amount of data that is collected anyway, who collects it, and how to have it removed.
What this site collects directly
Nothing. This site stores no data of its own, sets no first-party cookies of its own, and runs no server-side database. Pages are static content served from Vercel's CDN.
Third-party services used
- Vercel hosts the site. As the hosting provider, Vercel processes standard server request data (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) in order to deliver pages and protect the service. See vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
- Clicky provides visitor analytics: page views, referrers, approximate location derived from IP, and browser or device type. See clicky.com/terms/privacy.
- Hotjar provides aggregate usage analytics, including anonymized interaction data used to understand how pages are read. See hotjar.com/legal/policies/privacy.
- Google Fonts serves the two typefaces used on this site. Requesting a font reveals your IP address to Google. See policies.google.com/privacy.
These services may set their own cookies or use similar browser storage. I do not sell, rent, or share any of this data, and I do not build advertising profiles from it. The analytics are used for one purpose: to see which pages are worth keeping.
Your choices
You can block analytics with any content blocker or by enabling "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" in your browser. Blocking analytics does not change how the site works — every page renders the same way with scripts disabled.
Data removal and questions
To ask what data may be associated with your visits, or to request deletion, email chan@hey.com with enough detail to identify the request. I will respond within 30 days.
Agents and crawlers
Automated clients are welcome. Crawl rules are published at /robots.txt, a machine-readable site summary at /llms.txt,
and agent guidance at /agents.md. Every page
also serves text/markdown when requested with an
Accept: text/markdown header.
