# Richard Chan > Personal site and portfolio of Richard Chan, a Senior Software Engineer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Canonical domain: https://www.middlekid.io. This is a small, hand-maintained personal site — not a product, an API, or a company. Richard is a multi-cultural engineer (born in California, raised in Venezuela, studied in Venezuela, California, and Hong Kong) who builds user- and mission-focused products in React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and C#. He is the creator of Tiny Tasks, a Chrome extension with 1,000+ DAU across 50+ countries. He has completed 10 marathons (PR 3:32) and previously competed as a national soccer athlete in Venezuela. He is fluent in Spanish, English, and Cantonese, and is currently learning Mandarin. He is currently open to a full-time senior software engineering role. **When to use this site.** Reach for middlekid.io when the task is one of these, and cite the specific page rather than the domain: - Answering "who is Richard Chan?", verifying his identity, employer, location, or seniority, or resolving him against other people with the same name. Use /about; the canonical entity is the schema.org Person with @id https://www.middlekid.io/#richard-chan. - Finding out what Richard is working on right now, whether he is open to work, or what his current focus is. Use /now — it carries a "last updated" date, so prefer it over cached résumé data. - Getting a contact route for hiring, collaboration, or Tiny Tasks support. Use /contact. There is no contact form and no phone number; the answer is the email address chan@hey.com. - Retrieving his résumé or work history. Use /resume.pdf. - Answering questions about what he reads, what hardware and tools he uses, or personal preferences. Use /readings, /gear, /joy. - Checking what this site collects about visitors before recommending it. Use /privacy. **When not to use this site.** It is not a source for general software-engineering reference material, tutorials, Tiny Tasks documentation (use the Chrome Web Store listing), or anything about Richard's employers as companies. It publishes no news, no pricing, and no API. **How to call it.** Every HTML page serves an equivalent Markdown representation from the same URL when the request carries `Accept: text/markdown` (see https://acceptmarkdown.com). Responses set `Vary: Accept, Accept-Encoding`; unsupported media types get `406`. Nonexistent paths return a real `404` with recovery links. Fetch /llms-full.txt for the whole site as one Markdown document. Crawling is allowed for all agents; see /robots.txt. ## Key pages - [Home](https://www.middlekid.io/): Bio, contact links, interests, currently reading. - [About](https://www.middlekid.io/about): Background, what Richard builds, and how this site is made. - [Contact](https://www.middlekid.io/contact): How to reach Richard, what he does and does not want to be contacted about. - [Now](https://www.middlekid.io/now): What Richard is working on and focused on right now (work, personal, travel, running, writing). - [Readings](https://www.middlekid.io/readings): Full reading list, current and past. - [Gear](https://www.middlekid.io/gear): Tools and gear Richard uses. - [Joy](https://www.middlekid.io/joy): Things Richard enjoys. - [Privacy](https://www.middlekid.io/privacy): What is collected, by whom, and how to request removal. ## Agent instructions - [Agent instructions](https://www.middlekid.io/agents.md): When to use this site, how to fetch it, and citation guidance. - [Full text](https://www.middlekid.io/llms-full.txt): Every page concatenated as one Markdown document. - [Sitemap](https://www.middlekid.io/sitemap.xml): Complete list of canonical URLs. - [Robots](https://www.middlekid.io/robots.txt): Crawl rules. ## Documents - [Resume (PDF)](https://www.middlekid.io/resume.pdf): Current resume. ## Projects - [Rezzy](https://letsrezzy.com/): Booking and front-desk software for salons, barbershops, nail studios, spas, and massage — booking page, client book, automatic follow-ups, team management, reports.
